This guide explains how to send a Stripe Payment Link to your guests, including the setup steps and where to access the feature. Please note: You must connect an Stripe existing account to Smoobu via Stripe Connect in order to use the Stripe Payment Link feature, which can be done on this page.
Option 1) Automatically create a one-time link by using a placeholder
Create a customized message template that you can send to your guests, making sure to include the placeholder [stripePaymentLink] . A step-by-step guide on how to create and manage message templates can be found here.
All unpaid items on the Booking Details page will be taken into account and added to the total amount due via the Stripe link. This includes unpaid items that were added manually by you, by the guest from the Guest Guide or Booking Engine.
Example of unpaid items is shown below:
Example message to a guest, including the placeholder:
Good to know:
- There is no need to manually create a Stripe payment link the first.
- The Stripe payment link will be displayed under Payment Details (BETA). To see what this looks like, see screenshot below. It is under heading Stripe payment link
- The placeholder can only be used once for unpaid items. In case you have future unpaid items, use the placeholder again and a new Stripe payment link will automatically be generated.
- Should you need to re-send a Stripe payment link to the guest, do not use the placeholder and instead copy and paste from the section pictured below.
Option 2) Manually create Stripe Payment link
To manually create a Stripe Payment Link, head to the guest's Booking Details - Payment Details (BETA) and click on Create Stripe Payment link.
You can define the name and amount there, then click Save to create a link.
Payment Status: Requested vs. Paid
Stripe link will display as "Requested" when a link has been generated
Stripe link will display as "Paid" once payment has been received
