Smoobu will be down for planned maintenance on Thursday, 5 November 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 AM CET (4:00 to 7:00 AM UTC). During this window Smoobu and its apps are unavailable for up to 1 hour, and channel sync is paused for up to 3 hours. You don't need to do anything before the maintenance. Afterwards, compare your calendars and check that short-notice guests got their automated messages.
What is unavailable, and for how long
The times below are the longest we expect. The work may finish sooner.
- Smoobu and the mobile apps (up to 1 hour): the Smoobu web app and the iOS and Android apps cannot be opened. The Smoobu API is unavailable too, so connected apps and integrations cannot send data to Smoobu or receive updates from it.
- Booking engine and Guest Guide (up to 1 hour): guests cannot book directly through your booking engine, and this includes websites made with the Smoobu Website Builder. Your guests cannot open the Guest Guide.
- Airbnb and Booking.com sync (up to 2 hours): bookings, prices and availability do not sync, and messages between Smoobu and these channels are paused.
- Sync with all other channels (up to 3 hours): the same pause, for longer, while the other channels are switched back on one after another.
- iCal calendars: your iCal links keep working, but they show no new bookings or changes until the maintenance is over.
While sync is paused, some channels, Airbnb among them, temporarily hide your listings. They come back once sync is running again.
Why Smoobu is doing this maintenance
We are moving Smoobu's systems to a new cloud hosting platform. This makes Smoobu faster, more secure and more reliable for you and your guests.
What happens when the maintenance is over
Our team restores the services step by step and restarts the sync of bookings, messages, prices and availability. We are working closely with the channels to keep the risk of overbookings and lost data low. We cannot guarantee that every channel and every connected system restarts without a problem, so please check your account once the maintenance is done.
What to check after the maintenance
Do these two checks once the maintenance window has ended:
- Compare your calendars: check that the bookings and availability on each connected channel match what you see in Smoobu.
- Check automated messages for short-notice guests: for guests who booked at short notice and check in soon, make sure they have received their scheduled messages. If a message is missing, send it yourself through the channel the guest booked on.
Common questions
Do I need to block my dates on other channels during the maintenance?
No. The maintenance is planned and short, and we are coordinating it with the channels, so we do not ask you to block dates. If a booking arrives on a channel during the window, it reaches Smoobu once sync is running again. If something does not match after the maintenance, Smoobu is down: what should I do during and after an outage? explains how to add a missing booking and clear an overbooking.
A booking from the maintenance window is missing in Smoobu
Wait until the maintenance window has ended, because sync for some channels restarts later than others. If the booking is still missing after that, enter it yourself so the dates cannot be sold twice. A booking is missing, or dates are blocked for no reason explains how.
My own integration missed updates during the maintenance
The Smoobu API is unavailable for up to 1 hour, so your integration cannot send data to Smoobu or receive updates from it during that time. After the maintenance, check that your integration has the bookings and changes from the maintenance window, and fetch them through the API if they are missing.
