How do I create and send an invoice in Germany with Smoobu?

This guide explains how to create an invoice for hosts in Germany. It covers gathering guest details, configuring the template, and invoice creation.
Step-by-Step
1) Decide which information to require from your guest
Click on Experience > Online check-in. You will see an overview of all the information you can request from your guests.
💡 Tip: We suggest the following:
First and last name of the guest
Address including the country
Tax code (if available)
2) Configure your invoice template
Click on Configuration > Invoice Settings. We suggest to configure the following:
Invoice language
Envelope Address Placement
Currency
Tax % / tax rate
Due date
Whether a PayPal.me payment link should be added to your invoices
Billing address - Please note that the country Germany must be selected
Tax Type (VAT or Tax number)
Tax code
Default payment method
Payment terms
Notes
Logo
⚠️ Important:
If your tax type is ‘None’, do not enter anything under ‘VAT ID or Tax Number’. Your invoices will be created without VAT.
If you want to enter a tax number, select ‘Tax Number’ as the tax type and enter the number without slashes or spaces. Invoice will be created with VAT.
If you want to enter a VAT registration number, select ‘VAT ID’ as the tax type and enter the full number including the country (e.g., DE for Germany). Invoice will be created with VAT.
3) Create an invoice
a) Navigate to the Booking Details
b) Scroll down to the Invoices section. Click Create New to start a new invoice.
c) Enter the invoice number, the creation date and due date
d) Adjust the payment details as needed.
e) Enter the address of the invoice recipient and the VAT number (if available).
f) Enter further additions in the text field
g) Click Create
4) Download the invoice or send to the guest.
