Your email or password isn't accepted on the Smoobu login screen. The most common cause is the email address, not the password: Smoobu logs you in with the email currently on your account, so if it was ever changed, the old one stops working. Try the newest email first, then reset your password. This article is about logging in to Smoobu itself; if you can't open the website editor, see I can't open the website editor.
Your account email was changed
Smoobu logs you in by email address, and only the address currently on the account works. If you, or someone with access to your account, changed the email on the Profile page, the old address stops working immediately. Try the newer address. If you don't know what it is, contact Smoobu Support.
Your password isn't accepted
If the email is right but the password is rejected, click Forgot your password? on the login screen and enter your account email. Smoobu sends a reset link to that address. Open the link, set a new password, and log in.
If the reset email doesn't arrive within a few minutes:
- Check your spam and junk folders.
- Make sure you typed exactly the email address that is on your Smoobu account. A typo sends the link to the wrong inbox.
- Try again after about ten minutes. Some email providers delay these messages.
The 2FA code doesn't arrive
If two-factor authentication (2FA) is switched on for your account, Smoobu emails a verification code after you enter your password. The code always comes by email, even when the login dialog mentions a text message, so check your inbox and your spam folder. Also make sure the email address on your account is one you can actually open.
If you can't receive the code at all, contact Smoobu Support. After verifying that the account is yours, the team temporarily disables 2FA so you can log in again; a copy of a Smoobu invoice is the standard proof of ownership to include. The full checklist is in .
You were invited to someone else's account
If a host invited you to their Smoobu account as a team member and you can't get in, check how you created your access. The invite email contains a link where you accept the invitation. If you clicked Start free trial instead, you created a new, separate Smoobu account that has nothing to do with the host's. Cancel that trial and ask the host to send you a fresh invite. Complete the invite setup on a computer; the flow doesn't work on a phone. See .
You still can't get in
Some situations can only be fixed by our customer service team:
- The email on file is wrong, or one you can no longer access.
- The account was deleted. Accounts that stay inactive for five years or more receive a deletion notice and are permanently deleted 14 days later, unless a paid plan is activated in that time.
- A 2FA lockout where you can't receive the emailed code.
Contact Smoobu Support and mention the email address you have been trying to log in with and what you have already tried.
Check it's fixed
Open a fresh browser window, go to the Smoobu login page, and log in with your email and password. You land on your Smoobu Home page.
