Smoobu has mobile apps for iPhone and Android so you can run your properties from your phone: check the calendar, answer guest messages, add a booking, or block dates wherever you are. This article covers where to get the apps, what they do best, and how logging in with your fingerprint or face works.
Get the app
- iPhone: search for "Smoobu" in the App Store.
- Android: search for "Smoobu" in Google Play.
Log in with the same email and password you use for Smoobu on the web.
What the app does best
Everything you can do in Smoobu on the web is also available in the app, and it is at its best for quick tasks on the go:
- Checking the calendar for today's arrivals and departures.
- Replying to guest messages. Messaging is fully built into the app on both iPhone and Android, so you send and receive across your direct bookings and connected channels, including photo and PDF attachments and saved message templates.
- Adding a booking manually, for example after a phone call.
- Blocking dates at short notice.
- Looking up booking details such as guest information and payment status.
If a page doesn't show the latest bookings, pull down from the top of the screen to refresh; the Home page and the calendar both support this.
What is easier on the web
Bigger setup jobs are quicker on a laptop screen: connecting channels, working in the pricing calendar, editing message templates, and configuration in general. Do the setup on the web, then monitor and react from the app.
The app also can't switch between two Smoobu accounts. If you manage more than one account from your phone, open login.smoobu.com in your phone's browser instead; you can add it to your home screen from the browser's share menu and switch accounts from your profile there.
Log in with your fingerprint or face
On both iPhone and Android you can log in to the app with your fingerprint or face instead of typing your password.
- It is optional. After a manual login, the app offers to switch it on; it is never enabled automatically.
- You can turn it off at any time in the app under Menu, then Security.
- As a safeguard, if you add a new fingerprint or face in your phone's settings, the app switches this login method off until you log in manually once more.
- If a scan fails, the app simply falls back to the normal password screen.
If the calendar loads slowly
On iPhone, update the app to the latest version from the App Store first. On accounts with around 100 or more properties, the calendar can still take a few seconds to load when you open it.
