When the map pin sits in the wrong spot, the cause is almost always the property address stored in Smoobu: the pin is placed automatically from that address, and the fastest fix is to correct it under Configuration > Website Builder > Accommodations > Details & Photos. The same address drives the map on your website and the map in your Guest Guide, so one fix corrects both. There is no field to drag the pin or type in coordinates.
First, check
- Open Configuration > Website Builder, go to the Accommodations tab, and click Details & Photos on the affected property. Read the address fields character by character: street and house number, postal code, city, and country. This address page is the only place in Smoobu where a property's address is entered.
The address in Smoobu has a typo or is incomplete
The most common cause. A wrong house number, a missing postal code, or an empty field is enough to land the pin on the wrong street or in the wrong town. Correct the address under Configuration > Website Builder > Accommodations > Details & Photos and save. The pin is placed again from the corrected address; check the map afterwards. Repeat for each property with a wrong pin, since the address is stored per property.
The address is correct, but the pin is still off
Sometimes the address is right and the map service locates it imprecisely. On your published website, scroll to the map and click Improve this map in its bottom-right corner. This opens the map provider's correction tool, where you can report the exact position. The correction is applied on the provider's side and usually takes about two weeks to show up.
You don't want to wait, or you want to place the pin yourself
You can show a map you position yourself. In Google Maps, find the exact spot, open Share, choose Embed a map, and copy the code. For the Guest Guide: open Experience > Guest Guide, switch the Map toggle off, add a custom content block, click the HTML button (<>) in the content editor, and paste the code. On your website, you can place the same Google Maps embed with the editor's HTML widget, but only on pages you can edit, such as your Contact or About page. The Property Details page, where the built-in map sits, has a fixed layout that can't be edited, so the embed can't replace that map: the built-in website map stays in place, and the embed is an extra block elsewhere. For the Guest Guide, this replaces the built-in map.
Check it's fixed
Open your published website (or the Guest Guide preview) and scroll to the map: the pin sits on your property. After an address correction, the fix shows as soon as the page renders again. After an Improve this map report, allow about two weeks before checking again.
