Every new Smoobu website starts with a large example photo across the top of the home page. You replace it with your own picture in the website editor, in a couple of clicks. This is the big background image on the home page, not the photos on your property pages.
Before you start
You need both of these before you change the image:
- Your website is set up. If you haven't built it yet, start with create-your-website.
- The website editor is open. In Smoobu, go to Configuration > Website Builder and click Go to Editor.
Replace the background image
- In the editor, open your home page if it isn't already showing.
- Click the background picture at the top of the home page to select it.
- In the menu on the right, open Style, then Image, and click Replace.
- Choose your new picture: upload one from your computer, or pick one from the image library.
- Click Republish at the top of the editor so the new image goes live on your site.
Check it worked
- The home page in the editor now shows your picture instead of the example photo.
- Open your published website in a fresh browser tab and confirm the new background image appears there too. If you still see the old one, make sure you clicked Republish, then reload the page.

Still stuck?
If these steps didn't fix it, contact the Smoobu team: open the Help menu to open a ticket or book a call slot, or use the chat bubble in the bottom-right corner. To get the fastest answer, please include:
- Your Smoobu User ID (in the profile-icon menu, top right).
- The property name or ID, if it's about one property.
- The Booking ID, if it's about one booking (Bookings, then View more).
- The channel name, if it's about channel sync (Booking.com, Airbnb, Vrbo, and so on).
- A short step-by-step: what you did, what you expected, and what happened.
- Screenshots or a short screen recording of the problem.
- Your browser and operating system, if something looks wrong on screen.
