This guide will cover how to troubleshoot common issues when connecting your Booking.com account to Smoobu.
Issue #1: My Booking.com Property ID is connected to another Smoobu user
Context: A Booking.com Property ID can only be connected to one Smoobu account at a time. To connect it here, you first need to disconnect it from the other Smoobu account.
What you will see:
How to fix:
- Log in to the other Smoobu account.
- Go to Booking Portals → Edit Booking.com.
- Remove the Property ID
- Save
Note: If you are unsure which Smoobu account the Booking.com account is currently connected to, or if you are unable to locate it, please contact Customer Service here and our team will be happy to help you identify and disconnect it.
Issue #2: I see an error about not being access the hotel via API
What you will see:
Context: To connect a listing (Property ID) to Smoobu, select Smoobu as the Connectivity Provider for that listing. This must be done separately for each Property ID you wish to connect, as the setting is configured per listing rather than per account.
How to fix:
- Login in to the Booking.com Extranet
- Go to Account > Connectivity Provider, search and select Smoobu, then click Connect
- In Smoobu, click Reload (circular arrows)
Issue #3: I see an error about availability greater than 1
What you will see:
Context:
How to fix:
- Log in to the Booking.com Extranet and navigate to Rates & Availability > Calendar.
- In the Rooms to Sell row, look for any values greater than 1. Then determine how many units of that property type you actually rent out:
- If you only rent out a single unit of the property, a Rooms to Sell value greater than 1 is likely incorrect and should be reduced to 1.
- If you rent out multiple units of the same property type (for example, 10 Double Rooms), each unit must be represented by its own listing. In this case, create additional listings in Booking.com so that each listing has a Rooms to Sell value of 1.
Issue #4: I see an error about a potential property mismatch.
What you will see:
Context: Each listing in Booking.com must be linked to a corresponding property in Smoobu. To resolve this error, create additional properties in your Smoobu account so that the number of properties matches the number of listings you manage in Booking.com.
How to fix:
- Click Create Property on the warning
- Create additional properties in your Smoobu account so that the number of properties matches the number of listings you manage in Booking.com.
- Click Reload
