Smoobu has no feature to merge or combine two accounts into one, and no way to transfer one account's data into another. Hosts usually search for this ("merge accounts", "combine two accounts", "take over listings", "move a property to my account") in one of two situations, and each has a real answer that is not a merge. What you do depends on whether you want to share access to your properties or move a listing that currently sits on someone else's Smoobu account.
To share access, use an assistant account instead of a second account
If the goal is to let another person, or their own Smoobu account, help run your properties, you do not need to merge anything. Create an assistant account on your own account and give it the permissions you want. That account then works as a co-host with as much access as you allow: let it create and change bookings, reply to guest messages, and edit prices, and it can manage the property almost like you.
This is what most "merge my accounts" requests really need: shared access to one set of properties, not two accounts fused together. See create-assistant-accounts to create the login and permissions-and-notifications to set exactly what it can see and do.
To move a listing to your account, it has to be released first
A channel listing (Airbnb, Booking.com, and the rest) can be connected to only one Smoobu account at a time. So a listing that is currently on another Smoobu account cannot connect to yours until it is released from the old one. This is the situation when you buy or take over a property whose listing was set up on the previous owner's Smoobu account.
The cleanest way is for the previous owner to disconnect the listing in their own Smoobu account, on the Channels page. Once it is free, you connect it to your account the normal way. For Airbnb, the disconnect steps are in disconnect-airbnb; other channels disconnect from their own card on the Channels page.
If you cannot reach the old account
After an ownership change, the new host often does not know the old account's email address, so they cannot ask the previous owner to disconnect. Smoobu generally cannot lift the connection on its own. The one exception: if you can provide proof of the change of ownership, Smoobu Support can help release the listing. Contact Support, explain that you have taken the property over, and be ready to show proof of the ownership change.
What Smoobu does not do here
- No account merge. Smoobu cannot combine two accounts' properties, bookings, or history into one. You set up your own account and connect the freed listings to it.
- No automatic take-over. Because a listing belongs to whichever account holds its channel connection, Smoobu releases it only when the old owner disconnects it or when you show proof of ownership. It is not something Smoobu does on request without that.
Common questions
Can I just merge my two Smoobu accounts into one?
No. There is no merge. If you want one place to manage everything, pick the account you want to keep and set your properties and channel connections up there. If you also need to move between two accounts you keep separate, see switch-between-smoobu-accounts.
I took over a property and its listing is on the previous owner's Smoobu account
Ask the previous owner to disconnect the listing in their Smoobu account first, then connect it to yours. If you cannot reach them, contact Smoobu Support with proof of the ownership change and they can help release it.
