You disconnect Chekin from Smoobu's Marketplace. The basic Chekin fee on your Smoobu invoice then stops at the end of your current billing period, and there is no refund for the rest of that period. If you also pay Chekin directly for premium features, cancel those with Chekin.
Before you start
- Chekin is switched off for your whole account. You turned it on for every property at once, so disconnecting it stops it for every property too.
- Check whether you still have to file guest data. In some countries you must send guest data to an official platform, such as SES Hospedajes in Spain or Alloggiati in Italy. Chekin does that filing for you. Smoobu's own online check-in collects the data but does not file it, so arrange another way to file before you disconnect.
Disconnect Chekin
- In Smoobu, open the Marketplace, go to the Check-in category and open Chekin.com.
- On that page, click Disconnect. This stops the data sync from Smoobu to Chekin straight away. It does not delete your Chekin account.
- Go to Experience > Communication and remove the
[checkInOnlineUrl]placeholder from every message template that uses it, for example your Arrival template. Save each template. The placeholder is not replaced by itself: if you leave it in, the message shows a blank space where the link was, and it does not switch to Smoobu's own check-in form. - If you pay Chekin directly for premium features, such as advanced ID scanning, e-signatures or deposits, cancel them in your Chekin account or with Chekin Support. Smoobu does not bill these and cannot cancel them for you.
What happens to the fee
The basic Chekin plan costs 3.50 euros plus VAT per property per month and appears on your Smoobu invoice. When you disconnect, you still pay for your current billing period. After that, the add-on is removed from your invoice automatically. You do not need to contact Smoobu for this. You do not pay for the next period, and there is no refund for the days left in the current one.
This also applies to yearly and two-year plans. The fee stops at the end of the period you have already paid for, and there is no partial refund.
Chekin does not send you a cancellation e-mail or show a banner.
What happens to your Chekin account
- Your Chekin account stays open. Disconnecting only stops the data sync from Smoobu to Chekin. It does not close or delete your account.
- Your data stays in Chekin. Your past guest records, signed documents and police report logs remain stored in your Chekin account.
- To delete your data for good, contact Chekin Support. Ask them to delete your account and all its data.
Do you mean Smoobu's own online check-in?
Smoobu's own online check-in is a different feature, and it is free, so turning it off changes nothing on your invoice. To stop sending it to guests, go to Experience > Online Check-in and switch the toggle at the top to Disabled. The change applies at once; there is nothing to save. See Set up online check-in for your guests.
