AVS is Smoobu's integration for the German Meldeschein (electronic guest registration). This article covers the one-time connection. Once it is done, every booking gets a Registration form update button on its detail page, and creating the Meldeschein itself is covered in How do I create a Meldeschein for a booking?.
AVS covers Germany. For Austria, Liechtenstein and Switzerland, use Feratel MeldeClient instead: see How do I connect Feratel MeldeClient to Smoobu?.
Before you start
You need three IDs from your local Kurverwaltung or Tourismusverband. They issue them once your property is registered with them, and it usually takes about two days, so request them before you sit down to connect.
- Firma, your company or business ID. This is always a number, never a name.
- Spa Management ID, issued per property. Your office may call this the Kurverwaltungs-ID.
- Object ID, issued per property.
On the data sheet your office sends you, the Firma and the Spa Management ID are on the first page, and the Object ID is on the last page.
There is no link from Smoobu to AVS and no sign-up inside Smoobu. Getting the IDs is a separate conversation with your local office.
One Firma at a time. Smoobu stores a single Firma for your account. If you hold more than one, you can still create all your properties, but you have to change the stored Firma each time you want to produce a Meldeschein for a property belonging to a different one. That part is covered in How do I create a Meldeschein for a booking?.
Steps
- In Smoobu, open the Marketplace and choose the Check-in category.
- On the AVS Tourism (only Germany) card, click Learn more. This opens the AVS setup page.
- Enter your Firma at the top. There is one Firma for your whole account.
- In the Accommodations table, enter the Spa Management ID and the Object ID for each property you want to register guests for.
- Click Save.
Check it worked
- Reopen the AVS setup page and confirm your Firma, Spa Management ID and Object ID are all stored.
- Open any booking on a property you entered IDs for, and confirm the Registration form update button appears on its detail page. It only shows once AVS is connected.
- Creating the Meldeschein from there is covered in How do I create a Meldeschein for a booking?.
Common problems
The Registration form update button does not appear
The button only shows once AVS is connected and saved. Reopen the AVS setup page from Marketplace > Check-in and check that your Firma is stored, and that the Spa Management ID and Object ID are filled in for the property that booking belongs to. A property with empty IDs gets no button.
My IDs are rejected
The three IDs are not interchangeable, and the connection fails if the Spa Management ID and the Object ID are swapped. Check them against the data sheet from your office: Firma and Spa Management ID on the first page, Object ID on the last. If they look right and still fail, ask your Kurverwaltung to confirm the property is registered on their side.
I manage properties under more than one Firma
Smoobu stores one Firma at a time. Create all your properties as normal, then change the stored Firma in the AVS settings before creating a Meldeschein for a property that belongs to a different one.
