This guide walks you through the steps to set up your Booking Engine in Smoobu. You’ll learn how to configure the basics (cleaning fee, extra guest fee, etc), where to customize the look and feel, add coupon codes and more. Please note: these settings apply only and exclusively to the booking engine, NOT to the portals you have connected to Smoobu.
2) Select your property / accommodation in Accommodation Selection.
💡 Tip: Save time, modify multiple properties at once using Edit in Bulk.
3) Add a Marketing Title and a Photo
💡 Tip: Your Marketing Title should be unique and attention-grabbing for potential guests. It doesn’t need to match your internal property name in Smoobu.
4) Configure the Basic settings
• Set the cleaning fee (either a fixed amount or by percentage)
• Define a prepayment (Fixed fee or %)
– 0% and 100% both mean full payment at the time of booking
• Set the number of Min. days between booking and arrival
– If a guest books today, when can they arrive? 0 = today, 1 = tomorrow morning, etc.
• Add a cost per additional guest, maximum number of guests and Starting at which guest this fee applies
– If desired, charge adults and children separately
5) Establish Arrival and Departure Days
If left empty, all days are available. Use this section to set seasonal restrictions for check-in and check-out. Select the period and specify allowed days (e.g., in summer, check-in/out only on Saturdays).
6) Add Length of Stay discount
Offer discounts for longer stays (e.g., 5% off for 12+ nights).
7) Create coupon codes
Use coupon codes to increase direct bookings:
• Property or sub-unit to which the discount applies
• Name of the offer
• Discount code
• Value (currency or %)
• Validity period
• Create multiple coupons for different audiences/offers
8) Add Additional items
Mandatory options (e.g., tourist tax) and optional extras (breakfast, bike rental, tours). Define per person, per night, or per booking.
