How do I enable the Airbnb Top-rated Guest Discount?

Airbnb's Top-rated Guest Discount gives a 15% discount to guests who have earned Airbnb's Top-rated Guest status, and you turn it on from your Airbnb promotions in Smoobu. It can raise your listing's visibility with Airbnb's most trusted guests, and you can switch it off again whenever you want.

Airbnb estimates that listings offering it see roughly 5% higher gross booking value, 6% more nights booked, and a 15% higher chance of bookings from Top-rated Guests. Those are Airbnb's own launch figures.

Before you start

You need these in place before you switch it on:

• Your Airbnb account connected to Smoobu. See How do I connect Airbnb to Smoobu?.
• You set this in Smoobu, alongside your other Airbnb promotions, not on Airbnb directly. See How do I manage my Airbnb listing with Smoobu - Settings, Discounts, Additional fees, Seasonal Rules, Lead time and more.

Steps

1. Open Channels.
2. Open your Airbnb card and open Additional Settings.
3. If you have more than one Airbnb listing, select the listing you want to edit.
4. Open the Promotions tab.
5. Under Top-rated Guest Discount, click Create.
6. Check the promotion details. The discount is a fixed 15%, set by Airbnb.
7. Confirm and save.

Check it worked

The Top-rated Guest Discount shows as active on the Promotions tab, and Smoobu syncs it to Airbnb. Eligible Top-rated Guests then see the 15% discount on your listing.

Common questions

Can I turn it on for only some dates?

No. The discount is set at the listing level, and Airbnb decides when it applies to eligible Top-rated Guests. You cannot limit it to specific dates.

Can I switch it off later?

Yes. Open the Promotions tab again at any time to edit or remove the promotion.

Does it stack with my other Airbnb discounts?

Yes. It combines with the Mobile-only Discount and other eligible Airbnb promotions. Because Airbnb applies discounts one after another rather than adding them up, the final guest price can be lower than any single discount suggests. See How do Airbnb discounts and promotions stack?.
