How do I connect Beyond to Smoobu?

Beyond Pricing is a third-party dynamic-pricing tool that adjusts your nightly rates automatically based on live market data. To connect it, you fill in each property's details in Smoobu, click Connect to generate an API key, and enter that key in your Beyond account. Beyond then imports your listings and starts sending its prices into Smoobu. Make sure you already have prices set in Smoobu first, because Beyond overwrites your existing prices rather than creating them from scratch.

Before you start

You need all of these in place before you connect:

• A Beyond account. Beyond is a third-party tool with its own subscription. You set it up and pay for it with Beyond directly, not through your Smoobu plan.
• No other pricing tool connected. Only one pricing engine can manage your prices at a time. If you use another tool, such as PriceLabs or Smoobu Dynamic Pricing, disconnect it first. See .
• Prices already set in your Pricing rate calendar. Beyond only works when Smoobu already has prices to overwrite, so set at least a base price first. See . If your prices currently live on a channel like Airbnb, you can bring them into Smoobu as your base prices. See .

How the connection works

Beyond and Smoobu sync two ways: Beyond sends its calculated prices and minimum-stay rules into Smoobu, and Smoobu sends your bookings and calendar back to Beyond. The sync runs at least once a day, not in real time, so a change can take up to a day to show. Once connected, Beyond becomes the source of your prices: it overwrites the prices in your Smoobu rate calendar, and Smoobu passes them on to your connected channels. From then on, manage your prices in Beyond, not in Smoobu.

Steps

1. In Smoobu, open Marketplace in the left sidebar, click Dynamic Pricing, and open Beyond.
2. Fill in the details for each property: the complete Address, the number of Rooms and Beds, and your Amenities. Repeat this for every listing you want Beyond to price.
3. Click Connect. Smoobu generates an API key for the connection.
4. In your Beyond account, click Link Another Account and choose Smoobu.
5. Enter the email address you use to log in to Smoobu and the API key, then click Link Account. Beyond starts importing your listings.

Check it worked

Your listings appear in your Beyond account once the import finishes. After the next sync, Beyond's prices appear in your Smoobu Pricing rate calendar, replacing the prices you had set. Because the sync runs about once a day, give it up to a day before checking.

Common problems

Beyond is connected but doesn't send any prices

Beyond only pushes prices when Smoobu already has prices to overwrite. If you haven't set any prices yet, set at least a base price in Pricing, then let Beyond sync again. See .

The connection fails with an address error

Beyond needs a complete address for each property, so check the Address fields if a listing is rejected. If Beyond reports that an address doesn't exist or can't be found, open Marketplace in Smoobu, open Beyond, and check that the Address for that listing is complete: street, city, postal code, and country. Then try the connection again.

I already use another dynamic-pricing tool

Only one pricing engine can manage your prices at a time, so Beyond can't run alongside PriceLabs, Smoobu Dynamic Pricing, or another tool. Disconnect the tool you are using first, then connect Beyond. See .
