How do I connect Smartpricing to Smoobu?

Connecting Smartpricing lets it set your nightly prices in Smoobu automatically. Smartpricing is a third-party dynamic-pricing tool that uses artificial intelligence to work out the best price for each night. You don't set this connection up by clicking through Smoobu: you create a Smartpricing account, ask the Smartpricing team to link it to Smoobu, and give them a Smoobu API key. Once the link is live, Smartpricing sends its prices to Smoobu, and Smoobu passes them on to your connected channels.

Before you start

You need both of these in place before you connect:

• A Smartpricing account. Smartpricing is a separate product with its own subscription, so you sign up on the Smartpricing website first.
• No other pricing engine active. Only one dynamic-pricing tool can manage your prices at a time. If you use Smoobu Dynamic Pricing or another tool, disconnect it before connecting Smartpricing. See .

How the connection works

Smartpricing calculates a price for each night and sends it to Smoobu. Smoobu then pushes those prices to your connected channels, such as Booking.com and Airbnb. While the connection is active, the prices and minimum stay in your Smoobu rate calendar are always overwritten by the dynamic-pricing tool, so manage your prices in Smartpricing, not in Smoobu.

Steps

1. Sign up for a Smartpricing account on the Smartpricing website. In Smoobu's Marketplace, the tool's tile is currently labeled Smartness; Smartness is Smartpricing's new brand name, and both names refer to the same tool. The confirmation email sometimes lands in the spam folder, so check there if it doesn't arrive.
2. Contact the Smartpricing team at info@smartpricing.it and ask them to connect your account to Smoobu. Smartpricing sets up the connection on their side.
3. In Smoobu, open API Keys under Advanced in the left sidebar and click Generate API Key. Copy the key straight away, because Smoobu shows it only once, and send it to Smartpricing so they can link your accounts.
4. Wait for Smartpricing to confirm the connection. From then on, set and adjust your prices in Smartpricing.

Check it worked

Once Smartpricing confirms the connection, the prices it calculates appear in your Pricing rate calendar in Smoobu, replacing the prices you had set there, and Smoobu sends them on to your connected channels. If your rate calendar doesn't change after the confirmation, ask the Smartpricing team to check the connection on their side.

Common problems

You can't generate an API key

During the Smoobu free trial, API keys aren't available yet, so the key Smartpricing needs can't be generated from the API Keys page. Contact the Smoobu team and ask for API access, then continue with the steps above.

You want to stop Smartpricing from changing your prices

To disconnect, check your Smartpricing dashboard for a Smoobu connection setting, or ask the Smartpricing team to disconnect your account. After the connection ends, open your Pricing rate calendar and enter the prices you want, because Smartpricing overwrote the prices you had set before. See . Ending the connection does not cancel your Smartpricing subscription: your contract is with Smartpricing, so cancel it with them directly.
