Minut is a sensor you put in your property that watches noise, occupancy, motion and temperature, so you hear about a party starting instead of hearing about it from a neighbour the next day. Connecting it to Smoobu means Minut always knows who is staying and when, without you copying booking dates across by hand. You find it in Smoobu under Marketplace, in the Smart Home category.
Before you start
You need both of these before you connect:
- A Minut account with your sensors already set up, one per property you want monitored. Minut sells and supports the hardware; Smoobu does not.
- Your properties already created in Smoobu. You match each Minut home to a Smoobu property during the connection, so the properties have to exist first. See .
Connect the two accounts
The connection starts on Minut's side, not in Smoobu.
- Log in to the Minut web app and open Integrations.
- Choose Smoobu and start the connection.
- Authorise the connection with your Smoobu account when Minut asks for it.
- Match each of your Minut homes to the Smoobu property it sits in.
Minut documents the exact screens on its own support site, and its steps stay current with its app: support.minut.com.
What flows between them, and what does not
This is the part worth reading before you go looking for something that is not there.
Smoobu sends your booking and guest information to Minut. Once the accounts are connected and your homes are matched, Minut knows the dates of each stay and who is staying, so it can tell an occupied property from an empty one.
Nothing comes back the other way. Minut's alerts, noise scores and sensor readings stay in the Minut app. They do not appear in your Smoobu calendar, your booking details or your reports, so that is not something to hunt for in Smoobu settings: open Minut to see them.
If you have Minut's Guest Connect switched on, Minut contacts the current guest on your behalf when it detects noise. That message comes from Minut, not from Smoobu, so it is separate from your Smoobu message templates in .
Check it worked
Open Minut and look at one of the homes you matched. A current or upcoming Smoobu booking shows against it with the right dates. If a home shows no bookings while the matching Smoobu property does, that home is not matched yet.
Common problems
Minut shows no bookings for a property
The Minut home is not matched to a Smoobu property, or it is matched to the wrong one. Reopen the integration settings in Minut and check the matching, one home at a time.
You cannot find Minut's alerts in Smoobu
They are not there, and nothing is misconfigured. The integration only sends data to Minut. Noise alerts and sensor readings live in the Minut app.
You want to end the connection
Disconnect the integration from the Minut side, in the same Integrations screen you connected from.
