Smart Devices is still rolling out. It is not available on every Smoobu account yet. If you cannot find Smart Devices in your Marketplace or Configuration, your account is not part of the rollout yet. There is nothing you need to do, and any lock you already connect directly keeps working exactly as before.
Smart Devices lets you connect supported smart locks to Smoobu and manage them from one place. Once a lock is connected and assigned to a property, Smoobu creates a door code for each new booking and can send it to the guest inside your automated messages. You manage every lock, and every guest code, from the same dashboard instead of a separate app per lock brand.
What Smart Devices does
- Creates a guest access code automatically for each new booking on a property that has a connected lock.
- Puts that code into your guest messages through the
[seamAccessCode]placeholder, so guests receive it without you copying anything by hand. - Keeps your locks and bookings in sync, so codes match the current arrival and departure dates.
For the setup steps, see How do I connect a smart lock to Smoobu?. If you already use a direct lock connection such as Nuki Web or Iglooconnect, see switch-to-smart-devices.
Seam, the technology behind it
Smoobu connects to your locks through Seam, the provider that powers the integration. Seam supports many lock brands through one connection, so you do not set up a separate integration for each brand. You sign in once with your lock provider account, and Smoobu manages the codes through Seam from then on.
Plans and billing
Smart Devices is available on Smoobu Pro. Billing is per connected physical lock, at €4 per lock per month, added to your existing Smoobu subscription after the free trial. A lock that you share across several properties is counted and billed once.
Your 14-day free trial starts the moment you connect your first lock. Enabling the portal on its own, without connecting a lock, does not start the trial.
Supported smart lock brands
Through Seam, Smoobu supports Salto KS, Yale, August, TTLock, Ultraloq, Akiles, Igloohome, Kwikset, Lockly, Nuki, Schlage, Tedee, Samsung SmartThings, KeyNest, and Wyze. Smoobu adds more brands over time.
What data Smoobu shares with Seam
To create and manage guest codes, Smoobu shares only the booking details Seam needs: guest name, guest email if available, check-in and check-out dates, property information, and the booking reference. Smoobu never shares payment or card details, guest phone numbers, postal addresses, identity documents, or your guest messages. This data is stored within the European Union.
Common questions
Can I assign more than one lock to a property?
Yes. You can assign several locks to one property. A lock shared across properties is still billed only once.
Can I choose which locks Smoobu manages?
Yes. When Smoobu detects a new lock, you decide whether to include it. You stay in control of which locks are connected.
Can I connect the same lock account to two Smoobu accounts?
No. A lock account can be connected to one Smoobu account at a time. Further connection attempts are blocked while it is linked.
Will guests with existing bookings get a code?
No. Codes are created only for bookings made after a lock is connected and assigned to the property. Bookings that already existed do not get a code automatically.
What are Offline Codes?
Offline Codes work even when a lock is not connected to the internet, and they do not need to be programmed onto the lock in advance. Only some brands and lock models support them.
What happens to my locks if I turn Smart Devices off?
Open the Smart Devices portal and click Disable, then confirm. Smoobu removes all connected lock accounts, stops creating codes, and ends the lock billing. Your physical locks keep working for local and manual entry; Smoobu simply no longer manages their codes.
