This guide explains what Nuki is and how it integrates with Smoobu to simplify access management for vacation rentals. Nuki smart door locks help hosts secure their property while simplifying check-in and check-out for vacation rentals. You’ll also learn how to connect both systems so you can automate guest access and streamline your arrival and departure process.
Why use Nuki?
The integration with Smoobu is simple and powerful. You can automatically generate a unique Nuki access code for each booking in Smoobu and send it directly to your guest.
Purchasing a lock
You can purchase a Nuki lock here: Amazon Store or directly from the official shop: Nuki Shop.
Step-by-step: Connect Nuki and Smoobu
- Log into your Nuki Web Account.
- Go to Short Term Rental and click Connect Now. You will see a list of partners.
- Select Smoobu and click Link. You will be redirected to Smoobu.
- Log into Smoobu (if not already logged in) and confirm the connection.
- Return to Nuki and open Short Term Rental. You will see your Smoobu properties listed.
- Select a property and link your Nuki device. You can also configure when invitations are sent and which notifications you receive.
- Click Save.
Sending Nuki PIN via Smoobu
Include the placeholder [nukiPin] in your automated Smoobu messages so the PIN is dynamically inserted.
To create message templates, go to Experience > Communication > Create.

- To use this integration, you must activate Nuki Smart Hosting .
- A keypad is required for the [nukiPin] placeholder to work. Without a keypad, the PIN functionality cannot be used.
