Travanto, a channel for vacation rentals in German-speaking Europe, connects to Smoobu through a two-way interface that keeps bookings, availability, and prices in sync. You start the connection in Smoobu, and the setup is completed on Travanto's side, in your Travanto account.
Before you start
You need both of these before you connect:
- A Travanto host account you can log in to. The connection is completed inside your Travanto account.
- Your properties created in Smoobu, under Configuration > Properties.
The connection lives on Travanto's side
Travanto manages this connection in its own system. Three things follow from that:
- After you start the connection in Smoobu, the setup is finished in your Travanto account. If you don't complete it yourself, Travanto contacts you by email and walks you through it.
- Travanto does not appear on the Channel Status card on your Smoobu Home page or in Smoobu's list of connected channels. This is normal for this channel and does not mean the connection failed. Judge the connection by whether bookings and availability flow (see "Check it worked" below).
- Price synchronization is always on while the connection is active. Smoobu has no switch to stop sending prices to Travanto, so manage your Travanto prices in Smoobu's Pricing area.
Steps
- In Smoobu, open Channels in the left sidebar.
- Find the Travanto card and start the connection there. Take the card named exactly Travanto: the separate Travanto Ical card is a plain calendar-link connection, not this integration. Once the connection is started, the card shows a read-only API Key and Portal ID that Smoobu generates for you, plus an Accommodations section where each Smoobu property is mapped to its Travanto ID; click Save after mapping.
- Enter the API Key and Portal ID in your Travanto account to complete the setup there. Travanto also reaches out by email to guide hosts through the remaining steps.
Check it worked
Travanto never shows up in Smoobu's connected-channels list or on the Channel Status card, so don't use those as the signal. Instead:
- New bookings made on Travanto appear in your Smoobu Bookings list with Travanto as the channel, and as booking bars on your Calendar.
- Block a date in your Smoobu calendar. The date becomes unavailable on Travanto shortly afterwards.
Common problems
Travanto isn't listed as a connected channel in Smoobu
This is normal for this channel and not an error. The connection is managed in Travanto's system, so Smoobu doesn't display it on the Channel Status card or in the connected-channels list. Check whether bookings arrive in Smoobu and whether blocked dates reach Travanto; those are the real signals.
Dates I opened in Smoobu stay blocked on Travanto
Travanto locks the availability fields while the integration is active, so you cannot force dates open from Smoobu. To open them: temporarily disconnect Travanto on Smoobu's Channels page, open the dates in your Travanto account (the fields become editable while the integration is inactive), then reconnect the channel in Smoobu. Reconnecting pushes your Smoobu calendar to Travanto again. If the dates still cannot be opened, contact Travanto support; this can only be resolved on Travanto's side.
I don't want Smoobu to send prices to Travanto
Price synchronization cannot be switched off for this channel. As long as Travanto is connected, Smoobu sends your prices to Travanto, so keep the prices you want on Travanto managed in Smoobu's Pricing area.
Bookings from before I connected are missing in Smoobu
Travanto is managed from the portal's side, and bookings you received on Travanto before you connected may not be pulled in automatically. If a pre-connection booking is missing, enter it in Smoobu by hand so those dates stay blocked everywhere. If bookings made after connecting are also missing, that points to a connection or portal-side issue rather than normal behavior, so contact Smoobu Support.
