Most channels connect to Smoobu in one of two ways: a direct connection over Smoobu's API, or an exchange of iCal calendar links. This page tells you which of these your channel uses and sends you to its step-by-step guide. Every connection starts in the same place: Channels in the left sidebar, where each channel has its own card with a Connect button.
Before you start
You need both of these in place before you connect any channel:
- Your properties are created in Smoobu, under Configuration > Properties. The mapping step can only pick a property that already exists.
- Your listings exist on the channel's own site. Smoobu links to existing listings; it does not create new ones.
Pick your channel
- Booking.com connects as a direct two-way connection, per property: in the Booking.com Extranet you set Smoobu as your property's connectivity provider, then map each of its listings to a Smoobu property. See connect-booking-com.
- Airbnb connects as a direct two-way connection, with a single one-time authorization on Airbnb's site that covers every listing on your Airbnb account. See How do I connect Airbnb to Smoobu?.
- HomeToGo connects as a direct two-way connection from its card (in the full channel list the card is labelled Google Vacation Finder / HomeToGo), and you can connect more than one HomeToGo account to a single Smoobu account. See connect-hometogo.
- Expedia connects as a direct connection where you enter your Expedia Property ID (or Hotel ID). It needs one bookable unit per Property ID, and bookings made before you connect are not imported. See connect-expedia.
- Vrbo, known in Germany as FeWo-direkt and in France as Abritel, connects by exchanging iCal calendar links, which sync availability only. See connect-vrbo-homeaway.
- Holidu and other calendar-only channels connect through one of the generic Individual iCal slots on the Channels page, again by exchanging calendar links. See ical-connections.

How you know you're set up
For most channels, the card on the Channels page shows a Connected badge, and the channel's bookings appear on your Calendar as booking bars on the mapped property's row. If a channel connects but its bookings never reach the Calendar, the connection didn't finish: recheck the property mapping and the card status. A few channels (Travanto, Nature House) manage the connection on their own side and never show as connected in Smoobu; for those, use the checks in their own guides.
